Information on fake material Outokumpu is a global leader in stainless steel. We are the inventor of stainless steel and have a century’s expertise in making advanced materials. Our products offering covers 9 product ranges that include austenitic, ferritic, duplex and martensitic stainless steel grades. Outokumpu’s production sites located in Finland, Germany, Mexico, Sweden, the UK and the US produce a wide range of stainless steel products, including hot and cold rolled coil products, quarto plate and long products in various grades and sizes. As the leading company in developing high advantage and special grades globally, Outokumpu is one of the pioneers in developing and supplying high added value special grades for various industries and applications, such as the energy and heavy industry, environmental protection industry etc. In recent years, as part of the mission of “Green Ocean”and reducing sulphur emissions from ships, Outokumpu has taken part in the development of scrubbers with ship companies. Outokumpu has delivered special grades(including Forta DX 2205, Forta SDX 2507, Ultra 254SMO, Ultra 6XN,etc) for this application which in its qualified properties, has achieved a good reputation in the market over the past ten years. However, recently we were informed that there is fake Outokumpu material in the Chinese market. Third party steel not being of Outokumpu origin has been marked and sold under: 1. Forged Outokumpu Logo and marking on products. 2. False names & forged Outokumpu Logo stated to be Outokumpu employees in public social media channels. 3. Falsified documents, i.e. mill certificates and contracts. The above illegal activities have seriously damaged some customers and Outokumpu's rights and interests. In order to protect Outokumpu’s intellectual property rights, and most importantly to help our customers. We solemnly declare: 1. 1. We will inform our customers&stakeholders of their risk of being subject to fraud. 2. 2. We will prevent the misuse of Outokumpu trademark, brand and name. 3. 3. We encourage and support customers who have been subject to any related fraudulent activity to file an official claim to the police. 4. We welcome all information from our customers if they suspect any fraud or falsification of Outokumpu material and documentation. We will help to confirm if any material is Outokumpu origin or not.
